Light
Light is a type of energy wave that like sound needs a medium to pass through. Thanks to Albert Einstein and Bose we know that light is a wave we know as electromagnetic radiation and a particle called photon. Photon is a nature force carrier called boson and has no mass what so ever. But boson can still be absorbed, reflected, or refracted as it comes near a medium. That’s why like sound the speed of light changes when it leaves our atmosphere.
In space the particle of light doesn’t need to interact with a medium as its speed is improved in a vacuum.
A theory proposed by Einstein is that space and time is one entity and that gravity is a curve in space-time. So when a photon is traveling on the plane of space time and goes near a massive object like a black hole it would change its direction as it gets caught in the black hole’s funnel.
In the end there are still many questions that face scientists that at the moment stay unanswered.
